“SYNTESE”
SYNTESE
Image no. 2 in the “Light-series”, the wonderful “SYNTESE” is illustrating the photosynthesis and oxygen that we depend on from the trees. By using the energy from sunlight, to convert carbon dioxide into organic compounds, trees breathe and give us life. Thus comes the intro to picture 3, “LIFE”, which shows where we come from.
“I am VICTORIA” – Section III
“I am VICTORIA”
“I am VICTORIA” is based on the world-famous Norwegian author Knut Hamsun’s novel from 1898, “Victoria”.
As inspiration for the work, Tine has used Hamsun’s well-known quote; “And love became the origin of the world and the ruler of the world; but all its paths are filled with flowers and blood, flowers and blood.”
Notice Tine’s illustration of the vulnerable VICTORIA on the right side of the face, and how the power and strength are displayed on the left.
Victoria can just not be tamed; the work ended up with both flowers and blood.
“HULDRA” III
HULDRA III
In Norwegian folklore and legend, Huldra is a mythical, beautiful female creature you can encounter in the mountains or the deepest of forests.
According to norwegian tales, Huldra lives in the Norwegian mountains and underground and entices men with appearance and charm. Huldra also steals children and exchanges them for their own, and these children are called “swaps”.
In stories, Huldra appears to the public for better or worse. She can get you in danger and unhappiness, or she can help and comfort you. Huldra can lure and obtain men hiking in the mountains, and in some tales and anecdotes, she also marries human souls.
Tine Hartz here honors this supernatural legend, that few claim to have seen.
“BRAINSTORM”
“BRAINSTORM”
Picture no. 4 in the Light-series is the exciting “BRAINSTORM”. The illustration of this magnificent organ, with all the brain activity, takes place between the right and left hemispheres of the brain.
Shown here is the importance of both in interaction, the theoretical and the practical, the logical and the creative. The brain activity of Homo Sapiens sets us apart from everything else.
